The former Assistant Director of Attorneys for The Cochran Firm - Criminal Defense Section in Santa Monica, California, founded by famed O.J. Simpson attorney Johnnie Cochran, Brian J. Barrido supervised approximately 250 criminal defense attorneys nationwide and helped further the legacy of Mr. Cochran's firm throughout the United States. Mr. Barrido was recruited to Santa Monica, California based upon his record as an attorney with the Cook County Public Defender's Office where he successfully tried numerous of the most serious felonies including murders, armed robberies, and aggravated criminal sexual assaults. Prior to his distinguished legal career at the criminal courts building at 26th & California in Chicago, Mr. Barrido handled civil matters for the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender in the Juvenile Court system's Child Protection Division.

Mr. Barrido graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Law in 2001. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the same university. While attending law school, Mr. Barrido was chosen to participate in the Illinois State Appellate Defender Clinic in Springfield, Illinois for two consecutive years and was a law clerk for the Cook County Public Defender's Office in both their post-conviction unit and felony trial division.

Mr. Barrido is a member of the Illinois Bar, the general and trial bars of the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois, the Illinois Capital Litigation Trial Bar and the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
